Neck/Whiplash

Provided that you have not been involved in a motor vehicle accident or other traumatic event, you most likely have neck trouble because of how you work, sit, bend, lift, push, pull, reach, and carry things. Over a period of time your neck may have become weak and inflexible.

The structures that are supposed to take the stress, called muscles, are not able to bear up the loads of the stress and therefore, the stress will go to your ligaments, bones, and joints of the spine and possibly to the discs. This can lead to discomfort.

Over the years many people have come to our facilities with CAT scans and MRIs that show that they have significant problems in their spine. However, the world authority on spine problems, the Spine Journal, which is the international journal for the study of spinal disorders, has concluded that 50-60% of all people have bulging discs on MRI and these people have never reported having back or neck pain. So the jury is out on whether bulging discs are of any consequence in neck or back pain. So we don't want you to get hung up on that.

We will work with you to strengthen your neck muscles and teach you how to build your body back up by the proper way to:

  • sit
  • bend
  • lift
  • push
  • pull
  • carry
